The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Barr. Ezenwo Nyesom Wike, has urged the newly constituted South-South Development Commission (SSDC) to prioritize grassroots development in line with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
Speaking during a courtesy visit by the SSDC Board, led by Hon. Chibudom Nwuche, Barr. Wike congratulated the team on their appointments and emphasized loyalty to the President. He stressed the need for financial prudence, teamwork, and stakeholder consultation to ensure impactful projects in the South-South region.
“The only way to justify your appointment is to work tirelessly for the development of your region and make the President proud,” the Minister said.
He also warned against politicizing the Commission’s mandate or misusing public funds, urging members to focus on genuine development projects and avoid duplication with state or local initiatives.
In response, SSDC Chairman Hon. Nwuche and Managing Director Miss Usoro Akpabio pledged full support and commitment to delivering on the Commission’s mandate.
