The Federal University of Technology, FUTMinna, Niger State, has concluded plans to graduate a total of 119 students with First Class honors out of 5,816 students for the 2023/2024 academic session.
The Vice Chancellor, Prof. Faruk Adamu Kuta, made this disclosure at a pre-convocation briefing for the 33rd convocation ceremony and 42nd Founders Day at its main campus, Gidan Kwano.
He said the degrees will be conferred on the graduates on Saturday, 1st February 2025.The breakdown showed that 1,431 students are graduating with Second Class Upper, 2,341 with Second Class Lower, 972 with Third Class, and 92 with Pass.He also said the 5,816 graduating students comprise 4,955 undergraduates, 632 Master’s graduates, 105 Postgraduate Diplomas, and 124 Ph.D. recipients.
The VC explained that during the period under review, the university awarded 94 study fellowships and sponsored 112 staff to workshops and conferences.“Over 74 staff have been promoted to the ranks of Professor and Associate Professor.
Also, 87 other academic staff were promoted to other ranks, while 174 senior non-teaching and 34 junior staff enjoyed promotions within the year,” Kuta stated.
