Aircraft veers off runway amid heavy rainfall as aviation authorities confirm all passengers and crew were safely evacuated without injuries.
A plane arriving from Enugu skidded off the runway after landing at the Benin Airport on Thursday, causing concern among passengers and airport officials but resulting in no casualties.
According to the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA), the aircraft landed safely before veering off the runway amid heavy rainfall. Emergency response teams were immediately mobilised to the scene, and all passengers and crew members were safely evacuated without injuries.


The NCAA confirmed that there were no fatalities or injuries from the incident and assured the public that all necessary safety procedures were promptly activated.
Authorities are expected to conduct a full investigation to determine the cause of the runway excursion, while airport operations continue in line with established safety protocols.
