President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the appointment of Honorable Abubakar Bawa Bwari as a member of the Governing Board of the Nigeria Arabic Language Village, situated in Ngala, Borno State. This appointment is part of a broader reshuffle, in which 36 distinguished Nigerians have been selected to serve on the boards of various federal institutions nationwide.
The Nigeria Arabic Language Village (NALV), a specialized federal educational institution, plays a pivotal role in the advancement and preservation of Arabic language education in Nigeria. Located in Borno State, the institution functions as a national center for Arabic language immersion, professional teacher training, curriculum development, and cross-cultural exchange. It is instrumental in equipping educators and students with advanced proficiency in Arabic, thereby strengthening Nigeria’s multilingual educational framework and fostering academic ties with the Arab-speaking world.
Hon. Bawa Bwari, a seasoned public administrator and former Minister of State for Mines and Steel Development, brings with him a wealth of experience in governance, policy implementation, and institutional development. His inclusion in the governing council of NALV is expected to enhance strategic oversight and drive initiatives that will elevate the institution’s impact on language education and cultural integration.
President Tinubu’s decision to reconstitute the boards of federal institutions aligns with his administration’s broader commitment to educational reform, institutional efficiency, and inclusive governance. By appointing individuals with proven expertise and leadership acumen, the government seeks to fortify the operational effectiveness and academic excellence of these institutions.
This latest wave of appointments signals a renewed dedication to nurturing human capital and strengthening the nation’s educational architecture. The newly appointed board members are expected to provide visionary leadership, ensure transparency, and uphold the core mandates of their respective institutions in line with national development goals.
