Former Senate Minority Leader and ex-FCT senator, Philip Aduda, secures APC senatorial ticket as political activities ahead of the 2027 elections begin to intensify in Abuja.
Former Minority Leader of the Ninth Senate, Senator Philip Aduda, has emerged as the All Progressives Congress (APC) senatorial candidate for the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Aduda, who represented the FCT in the Senate between 2011 and 2023, secured the party’s ticket following the APC senatorial primary, positioning himself for a major political comeback in Abuja politics.
The former lawmaker previously served as the Senate Minority Leader during the Ninth National Assembly and remains one of the prominent political figures in the FCT.
His emergence is expected to set the stage for a keenly contested senatorial race in the nation’s capital as political parties begin early preparations for the 2027 general elections.

Aduda will now fly the APC flag in the race to reclaim the FCT senatorial seat currently occupied by Senator Ireti Kingibe.
