Kaduna, Nigeria (October 21, 2025) — In a shocking early-morning attack, heavily armed bandits invaded the Nasara Nursing and Maternity Home in Kujama, Chikun Local Government Area of Kaduna State, abducting a doctor, five patients, and a security guard.
According to eyewitnesses, the assailants stormed the hospital premises in the dead of night, shooting sporadically to instill fear before whisking away the victims. The gunmen also reportedly raided nearby houses, taking valuables and causing panic among residents.
One of the hospital’s security personnel, who attempted to resist the attack, was shot multiple times and is currently receiving medical attention at an undisclosed facility.
The Kaduna State Police Command has yet to issue an official statement regarding the incident, though local sources confirmed that a manhunt has been launched to rescue the abducted victims.
This latest attack adds to the growing concerns about the security situation in Kaduna and across northern Nigeria, where banditry and abductions for ransom continue to pose major threats to lives and livelihoods.
Efforts to reach the hospital management for comment were unsuccessful at the time of filing this report.
