In a swift security operation, troops of the Nigerian Army’s Operation Hadin Kai have rescued 74 members of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) who were stranded along the Buratai–Kamuya Road in Borno State, a known hotspot for insurgent activities.
According to military sources, the corps members — comprising 36 males and 38 females — were on their way to orientation camps when three buses conveying them broke down around 9:05 p.m. on Tuesday. Surveillance systems reportedly picked up unusual movement around the area, prompting troops to respond immediately.

The rescue team successfully evacuated all 74 corps members to safety at the Buratai military base, where they are currently receiving care while arrangements are being made for their onward journey.
Officials confirmed that no casualty or abduction occurred, thanks to the timely intervention of the army patrol unit.
The Nigerian Army reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring the safety of citizens and maintaining peace in the North-East region, particularly along vulnerable routes used by civilians and NYSC members.
