The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has expelled some of its most influential members — Nyesom Wike, Ayodele Fayose, and Samuel Anyanwu — in a major disciplinary action taken during the party’s ongoing convention in Ibadan, Oyo State.
The motion for their expulsion was moved by Chief Olabode George, a respected party elder and former National Vice Chairman (South).

Delegates at the convention reportedly adopted the motion, marking one of the most dramatic internal shake-ups in the party’s recent history.
The decision has triggered mixed reactions across the PDP and the political landscape:Supporters of the motion say the expulsions are necessary to restore discipline and reposition the party.
Opposing factions argue that the convention is controversial and may lack the authority to take such decisions. Analysts warn of an escalation of internal battles that may lead to further defections or court challenges.
