Says FCT Area Council Elections Must Reflect Transparency, Real-Time Result Transmission
The Chairmanship Candidate of the (ZLP) has declared that a one-party system “cannot work and should not be encouraged,” calling on residents to come out en masse to vote in the forthcoming Saturday election.
Speaking to supporters, the ZLP flagbearer stressed that democracy thrives on healthy competition and credible opposition, warning that allowing a single party to dominate the political space would undermine accountability and good governance.
He noted that elections in the Federal Capital Territory are distinct from those conducted in other states, emphasizing that due process must be strictly followed. According to him, with the (INEC) assuring residents of real-time transmission of results, there is renewed hope for transparency and fairness in the electoral process.
The candidate urged eligible voters across Bwari to seize the opportunity to shape the future of the council by participating actively in the polls.
He further called on INEC and security agencies to ensure close monitoring of the election, maintain peace, and uphold the integrity of the process. He added that a free, fair, and credible election in the FCT would restore confidence in Nigeria’s democratic system and give citizens renewed hope in governance.
