A Nigerian evangelist, Evang. Ebube Joseph, on Friday led a street protest in Enugu, calling on former U.S. President Donald Trump to deploy American soldiers to Nigeria over what he described as “the continuous killing of Christians.”
The protest, which attracted supporters carrying placards with inscriptions such as “Stop Killing Christians” and “We Are Still Waiting,” saw Joseph deliver a message urging international intervention.

In a viral video from the protest, he said:
“President Trump, please don’t disappoint us. We Christians are still waiting for American soldiers. The killing is still going on.”
Joseph accused Nigerian authorities of failing to protect Christian communities, insisting that global powers must intervene to stop what he calls “systematic attacks” in several parts of the country.
The evangelist reiterated his belief that Trump’s recent comments about possible U.S. action in Nigeria give hope to endangered communities. The former U.S. president had earlier suggested that America “may need to step in” over alleged persecution of Christians.

The Enugu protest adds to the rising tension and mixed reactions across Nigeria following Trump’s remarks. While some communities support foreign intervention, federal officials and security analysts have rejected the idea as “misleading and unnecessary.”
Joseph, however, says the protests will continue until what he describes as “the genocide against Christians” is addressed.
