DSS Dismisses 115 Personnel Over Indiscipline, Misconduct

The Department of State Services (DSS) has reportedly dismissed no fewer than 115 of its personnel following internal disciplinary proceedings over alleged acts of misconduct, indiscipline, and breaches of service regulations.

According to credible sources within the nation’s intelligence community, the move is part of an ongoing internal reform aimed at strengthening professionalism, accountability, and ethical standards within the Service.

The dismissed operatives were said to have been found guilty of various offences, including absenteeism, insubordination, and conduct unbecoming of security personnel.

A senior DSS official, who spoke on condition of anonymity, confirmed the development, describing it as a “necessary step to restore discipline and integrity in the Service.”

“The DSS is a professional organization committed to maintaining the highest standards of conduct. Any officer found to have compromised those values will face due consequences,” the source said.

The mass dismissal comes amid renewed efforts by the leadership of the Service to sanitize its ranks and reposition the agency for greater operational efficiency and public trust.

Observers say the development reflects a broader trend of accountability reforms across Nigeria’s security institutions.
