The recognition came during the 1-Year Anniversary Celebration of Aso Mirror — the first indigenous community newspaper in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) — held in Abuja.

Guest Speaker on Community Media Development
As the Guest Speaker of the day, Hon. Dalhatu Ezekiel Musa delivered a powerful and thought-provoking lecture on the theme:
“The Role of Community Newspapers in Shaping the FCT Narrative.”
He highlighted the critical role of local media platforms in promoting inclusivity, amplifying community voices, and strengthening the socio-political development of the Federal Capital Territory.
In his appreciation speech, the People’s Comrade expressed heartfelt gratitude to the organizers for the recognition and dedicated the award to the people of the FCT.

He emphasized that building the FCT of our dreams requires unity, collaboration, and people-oriented leadership.
“This award is for the people. Together, we must continue to shape the FCT narrative with passion, truth, and purpose,” he said.
Commending Leadership and Indigenous Advocacy
Hon. Musa also commended Hon. Abdullahi Adamu Candido, a former Chairman of AMAC, for his visionary leadership and tireless efforts toward the emancipation of Indigenous People of the FCT.
He described Candido’s approach as strategic, courageous, and inspiring for the younger generation.
Aso Mirror remains a trailblazer in FCT’s media landscape, proudly representing the first indigenous print media outfit committed to telling the authentic stories of the people of Abuja and its surrounding communities.
