FCTA Assures Schools Remain Open Amid Suspension of Education Mandate Secretary

The FCT Administration has officially denied reports suggesting an early closure of schools across the territory, describing the rumours as false and misleading. Parents, students, and school authorities have been urged to disregard the unverified claims circulating on social media.

In a statement, the FCT government emphasized that no directive has been issued to shut down schools ahead of schedule, affirming its commitment to uninterrupted educational activities.

Meanwhile, the FCT administration announced the suspension of Dr. Danlami Hayyo, the Mandate Secretary for Education, as part of an internal review. The move aims to investigate the source and spread of the misinformation and to ensure accountability within the education secretariat.

Officials have reassured stakeholders that all schools in the FCTA will continue normal operations and encouraged everyone to rely solely on official communication channels for updates.

This action by the FCTA reflects its determination to maintain transparency in education administration and prevent the spread of false information that could disrupt academic schedules.

The FCTA Leadership also reiterated that their priority remains the safety and welfare of students, teachers, and staff across all schools in the territory.

Parents and school officials have been advised to stay informed through verified channels to avoid confusion and ensure a smooth educational calendar within the FCT.
