ICPC Uncovers Another Alleged Fake Agency in SGF Office, Tinubu Orders Arrest, Suspension of Officials

President Bola Tinubu directs ICPC to arrest Prince George Buchi Nwabueze and suspends three permanent secretaries following fresh findings by the anti-corruption commission.

The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) has uncovered another alleged fake government agency operating within the premises of the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (OSGF) in Abuja.

The discovery was made during the commission’s ongoing investigation into the alleged fictitious Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council (PFIPC) and related activities within the Federal Government.

According to the ICPC, the newly uncovered entity operates under the name National Brands Development and Made in Nigeria Special Project Office and was allegedly allocated office space within the OSGF premises without presidential authorisation.

ICPC Chairman, Dr Musa Adamu Aliyu, disclosed the development while briefing State House correspondents in Abuja, stating that the investigation uncovered how the organisation gained access to government facilities and operated within the OSGF environment.

The commission identified Prince George Buchi Nwabueze as the alleged promoter of the organisation and said he presented the entity as a government-backed office.

Following the findings, President Bola Tinubu ordered the immediate arrest of Nwabueze and directed the suspension of three permanent secretaries identified in connection with the matter.

The affected officials are M.S. Danjuma, Engineer Nadungu Gagare and Richard P. Pheelangwah.

The latest discovery has further widened the investigation into alleged fictitious government bodies and the processes through which unauthorised individuals or organisations gain access to Federal Government facilities.

The ICPC had earlier been directed by President Tinubu to investigate the alleged PFIPC, including claims involving forged government documents, purported presidential appointments, bank accounts and possible collaboration with public officials.

The commission said its investigation remains ongoing, with further actions expected as investigators uncover additional facts.
