Electoral Commission Sets June 26 for Release of Access Codes Following Conclusion of Party Primaries
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced that it will issue official Access Codes to political parties on Friday, June 26, 2026, to facilitate the upload of details of candidates who emerged victorious in the recently concluded party primaries ahead of the 2027 General Elections.
According to the electoral body, the Access Codes will enable political parties to access INEC’s online nomination portal and submit the particulars of their candidates for various elective positions across the country.
The development marks another important step in preparations for the 2027 general elections, as political parties move to formalize the nomination of candidates who secured tickets during their respective primary elections.
INEC stated that the digital submission process is designed to enhance transparency, efficiency, and accuracy in candidate nominations while ensuring compliance with the Electoral Act and the Commission’s election guidelines.
Political parties are expected to complete the upload of candidates’ information within the timeframe specified by the Commission. The submitted details will subsequently undergo verification and administrative review by INEC before the publication of the final list of candidates for the 2027 polls.
The Commission reiterated its commitment to conducting credible, transparent, and technology-driven elections, urging political parties to strictly adhere to the established procedures and deadlines.
