Community Cries Out As Repeated Attacks by kidnappers Raise Fresh Security Concerns In FCT Border Area
Kidnappers on Monday night 5th January 2026 invaded Tunga Bijimi community in Bwari Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), abducting three residents during the violent operation.
According to local sources, the armed men stormed the community late at night, shooting sporadically to scare residents before forcefully taking their victims to an unknown destination.
This is the second major attack by Kidnappers on Tunga Bijimi within two months, as the same community was previously invaded in November 2025, heightening fears over worsening insecurity in the area.
Tunga Bijimi is located under Kawu Ward of Bwari Area Council and shares a boundary with Kaduna State, a strategic location residents say has exposed the community to frequent criminal attacks.
Following the latest abduction, natives of the community have raised alarm, calling on the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA), the Nigeria Police Force, and other security agencies to urgently intervene and deploy adequate security personnel to the area.
Residents lamented that they now live in constant fear, especially at night, warning that without immediate government action, more lives could be at risk.
As of the time of filing this report, security agencies are yet to issue an official statement on the incident.
