The Libyan government has deported 80 Nigerian migrants for allegedly residing in the country without valid documents.
According to reports from the Nigerian Mission in Tripoli, the deported individuals, mostly young men and women, were apprehended during routine immigration raids in different parts of Libya. They were subsequently repatriated to Nigeria through a coordinated effort between Libyan authorities and the International Organization for Migration (IOM).
Officials said the deportees arrived at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos, earlier this week and are currently undergoing profiling by the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) and the Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS).
This latest deportation adds to the growing number of Nigerians being repatriated from North African countries due to illegal stay, human trafficking, and failed migration attempts to Europe through the Mediterranean Sea.

The Federal Government has reiterated its commitment to ensuring the safe return and reintegration of all stranded Nigerians abroad while warning citizens against irregular migration.
