Intelligence-led raid leads to seizure of large quantities of illicit drugs; manhunt launched for prime suspect.
The Oyo State Police Command has dismantled a suspected drug stockpiling operation in Ibadan, seizing large quantities of Indian hemp and Canadian Loud.
The raid took place at an apartment along Abanise Street in the Olomi-Academy area, where police recovered nine bags of dried leaves suspected to be Indian hemp and 101 wraps of dried leaves suspected to be Canadian Loud, along with other illicit substances.
Authorities identified Oluwadamilare Adedayo as the individual linked to the apartment, but he was not present during the raid, prompting a manhunt by the Oyo State Police Command under Commissioner of Police Femi Haruna.
Describing the operation as intelligence-led, the police emphasized the importance of community cooperation in combating illegal drug activities and urged residents to provide credible information to aid law enforcement.
