The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) won 30 out of 31 local government chairmanship seats in the October 5, 2024, local government elections in Akwa Ibom State, leaving the All Progressives Congress (APC) with just one seat. Governor Umo Eno will swear in the elected Chairmen and their Vice Chairmen today, October 7, 2024, at the Banquet Hall, Government House, Uyo.
