The National Working Committee (NWC) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has announced the suspension of four top officials following a recent court order that halted the party’s planned national convention.
Those affected by the suspension include National Legal Adviser, Kamaldeen Ajibade, National Secretary, Senator Samuel Anyanwu, Deputy Legal Adviser, Okechukwu Osuoha, and National Organizing Secretary, Umaru Bature.
According to the NWC, the suspension—set to last for one month—is part of internal disciplinary measures to address issues arising from the legal and administrative setbacks affecting the party’s operations.
The committee emphasized its commitment to upholding the rule of law and maintaining internal cohesion as the PDP prepares to reposition ahead of future political activities.
The court order that triggered the disciplinary action reportedly restrained the PDP from proceeding with its planned national convention, pending the determination of a suit filed by aggrieved members.
