Court Order Forces FCT Workers Back to Offices as Management Directs Immediate Compliance Across
The Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) has ordered the immediate resumption of duties across all its Secretariats, Departments and Agencies (SDAs) following a court order suspending the ongoing strike by FCT workers.
The directive was issued in an official circular dated Tuesday, January 27, 2026, by the Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the FCT. The circular cited an order of the National Industrial Court of Nigeria, presided over by Honourable Justice E. D. Subilim, which directed that the strike action declared by the Joint Union Action Committee (JUAC) be suspended with immediate effect.
According to the circular, all staff of the FCT Administration are to return to their respective duty posts without delay to restore normal operations across government offices in Abuja.
The Acting Head of the Civil Service, Nancy Sabanti Nathan, mni, further directed all Permanent Secretaries and Heads of Departments and Agencies to ensure strict monitoring of staff attendance as work resumes, while reaffirming the FCTAโs commitment to the welfare of its employees.

The circular was addressed to Secretaries of Mandate Secretariats, Coordinators of the Abuja Metropolitan Management Council (AMMC), Abuja Investments and Infrastructure Centre (AIIC) and Satellite Towns Development Department (STDD), as well as Heads of Parastatals and Agencies, with instructions to bring the contents to the attention of all concerned for immediate compliance.
