President Tinubu meets victims’ families, vows justice as he condemns attacks in Plateau communities

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has arrived in Jos on a condolence visit following the recent killings that claimed several lives in parts of the state

He was received by Plateau State Governor Caleb Mutfwang alongside other top government officials and security chiefs.

Tinubu’s visit comes in the wake of deadly attacks in communities within Jos, including Angwan Rukuba, where dozens of residents were reportedly killed, sparking widespread grief and outrage.

During the visit, the President met with affected families, community leaders, and stakeholders, expressing deep sorrow over the tragic loss of lives. He described the attacks as “barbaric and cowardly,” assuring residents that the Federal Government remains committed to restoring peace and security in the state.

He further pledged that perpetrators of the violence would be tracked down and brought to justice, while also directing security agencies to intensify efforts to prevent further attacks.

The visit underscores growing concerns over insecurity in Plateau State and reflects the Federal Government’s renewed focus on addressing violent attacks in vulnerable communities.

The President had earlier adjusted his official schedule to prioritise the visit, signalling the urgency attached to the situation.

The Plateau crisis has continued to draw national attention, with calls for stronger security measures and lasting solutions to recurring communal violence in the region.
