Angry Plateau youths storm streets demanding urgent government action after deadly attack leaves several dead and many injured

Residents of Plateau State on Monday defied a government-imposed curfew to protest the recent deadly attack in Jos North Local Government Area. The violent incident occurred on Palm Sunday, leaving multiple people dead and others injured, sparking outrage across the community.

Eyewitnesses report that aggrieved youths blocked roads and marched through major streets, demanding immediate government intervention and stronger security measures to protect lives and property.

In response to the violence, the State Government imposed a 48-hour curfew across Jos North, effective from midnight on March 29. Authorities stated the curfew aims to restore peace, allow security agencies to investigate, and prevent further unrest.

Despite the restrictions, protesters continued to gather in defiance, highlighting widespread frustration over recurring insecurity in the region. Government officials condemned the attack as senseless and assured that efforts are underway to identify and apprehend the perpetrators.

The incident has reignited national conversations about insecurity in Plateau State and the Middle Belt, with citizens calling for lasting solutions to prevent further violence and protect communities.
