Bwari Chairman John Gabaya seeks grassroots backing from former ward leaders to strengthen Amac/Bwari House of Representatives ambition
The Executive Chairman of Bwari Area Council, Hon. John Gabaya, has intensified consultations ahead of the 2027 general elections, meeting with former councillors from the 12 political wards in Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC) to solicit their support for his prospective bid for the Amac/Bwari House of Representatives seat.
The strategic engagement, which brought together experienced grassroots politicians and former ward representatives, focused on building a united front and strengthening political structures across both AMAC and Bwari constituencies.
Addressing the gathering, Hon. Gabaya emphasized the critical role former councillors play in shaping political outcomes at the grassroots, noting that their experience and influence remain vital in mobilizing support and fostering unity within the constituency.




He outlined his vision for inclusive representation, promising to prioritize people-oriented legislation, improved infrastructure, youth empowerment, and enhanced service delivery if elected into the National Assembly. He further assured the stakeholders of his commitment to equitable representation that reflects the diverse interests of both AMAC and Bwari residents.
Hon. Gabaya also highlighted his track record in Bwari Area Council, pointing to ongoing developmental efforts and governance reforms as a foundation for higher legislative responsibility.
In their responses, several former councillors commended the Chairman for initiating early consultations and acknowledged the importance of unity among political stakeholders. They pledged to carefully consider his request while emphasizing the need for continued engagement, inclusiveness, and clear policy direction.
