The First Lady of Nigeria, Oluremi Tinubu, has commended the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, for transforming the Abuja City Gate into a world-class recreational and tourism destination.
During a visit to the newly redeveloped landmark, the First Lady described the project as a significant achievement that has enhanced the beauty and image of Nigeria’s capital. She noted that the upgraded City Gate has become a welcoming symbol of Abuja, offering residents and visitors a modern space for relaxation, recreation, and sightseeing.
Oluremi Tinubu praised the FCT Administration for prioritizing infrastructure renewal and urban beautification, stating that the transformation aligns with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration by improving public spaces and promoting tourism in the Federal Capital Territory.
The Abuja City Gate has been redesigned with landscaped gardens, decorative lighting, water features, pedestrian walkways, and recreational facilities, making it one of the city’s newest attractions. The project is part of the FCT Administration’s broader urban renewal initiative aimed at modernizing Abuja and improving the quality of life for residents.
The First Lady also called on residents to take ownership of the facility by protecting and maintaining it, emphasizing that public infrastructure should be preserved for the benefit of present and future generations.
Her commendation adds to growing recognition of the ongoing transformation of Abuja under the leadership of the FCT Minister, with several infrastructure and beautification projects continuing to reshape the nation’s capital.
