Iran Military Chief Announces $30,000 Reward for Killing or Capturing US Soldier

Iran’s military chief reportedly offers a $30,000 reward for anyone who kills or captures a US servicemember, with a higher bounty reportedly promised to women who carry out the act.

Iran’s military leadership has reportedly announced a $30,000 reward for anyone who kills or captures a United States servicemember and hands them over to Iranian authorities, amid heightened tensions between Tehran and Washington.

The announcement was attributed to Iran’s Army Commander-in-Chief, Major General Amir Hatami, who reportedly said the reward would amount to about 5 billion Iranian tomans, equivalent to approximately $30,000.

Reports further stated that Iranian women who kill or capture a US servicemember would receive double the reward, estimated at $60,000.

The reported announcement comes against the backdrop of escalating tensions between Iran and the United States, with both sides engaged in increasingly hostile rhetoric and military posturing.

The development has raised concerns over the potential risks to American military personnel and the possibility of further escalation in the region.

However, reports noted that there is no known regular deployment of US ground troops inside Iran, leaving questions over how the reported bounty would be implemented in practice.

The announcement, if carried out, could further intensify tensions between Tehran and Washington and increase security concerns for US personnel and interests across the Middle East.
