In a shocking development, the Minister of Innovation, Science, and Technology, Chief Uche Nnaji, has resigned from President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s cabinet following allegations of certificate forgery.
Reliable sources confirmed that President Tinubu has accepted Nnaji’s resignation, amid growing controversy surrounding discrepancies in his academic credentials from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN).
Reports by Premium Times and Vanguard revealed that official UNN documents contradict Nnaji’s claims of graduation in 1985. The university reportedly stated that it could not confirm issuing the certificate he presented for public office.
The scandal has sparked widespread public reaction, with calls for a comprehensive review of credential verification among government officials.
As of press time, the Presidency has yet to announce a replacement for the Innovation, Science, and Technology portfolio.
