Former councillors across party lines reaffirm support for President Tinubu, Sen. Philip Aduda and APC Abuja South candidate at Gwagwalada meeting.
The political landscape in the Federal Capital Territory received another boost as former councillors from across the FCT converged in Gwagwalada Area Council for an engagement with Senator Philip Tanimu Aduda MFR, CON, ahead of the 2027 General Elections.
The gathering brought together former grassroots political office holders from different political backgrounds, providing a platform for dialogue, appreciation and renewed commitment to the political direction being championed by Senator Aduda.

Discussions at the meeting centred on the need for stronger grassroots participation and a united approach towards the 2027 elections. Participants also reflected on recent developments in the FCT, particularly the expansion and rehabilitation of infrastructure across several communities.
The former councillors acknowledged the efforts of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR and the FCT Minister, Barr. Ezenwo Nyesom Wike GSSRS, in driving projects and interventions that have contributed to the changing physical landscape of the nation’s capital.
In a strong show of solidarity, members of the forum expressed their willingness to work for the President’s return in 2027 while also throwing their weight behind Senator Aduda and the APC candidate seeking to represent Abuja South and Abuja North in the House of Representatives.

Their commitment is expected to add considerable grassroots experience to the political mobilisation ahead of the 2027 polls, given the former councillors’ longstanding relationships and networks within communities across the FCT.
Beyond party lines, the meeting also reflected Senator Aduda’s continuing effort to bring together political stakeholders with different backgrounds under a broader platform of cooperation. The participation of former councillors from different political affiliations gave further weight to the emerging Rainbow Coalition in the territory.
The Gwagwalada engagement represents more than a political meeting; it highlights an expanding network of grassroots stakeholders and a renewed push for collaboration as the FCT gradually moves towards the 2027 electoral season.
With former councillors pledging to take the message back to their respective communities, the meeting could mark another important step in consolidating Senator Aduda’s grassroots reach and strengthening the coalition ahead of the forthcoming elections.
The meeting had in attendance virtually all the six area council chairmen, past chairmen, political actors in various councils.
