Federal Government pledges full support as Senator Datti Baba-Ahmed leads delegation to advance aviation training project in Abuja
Senator Datti Baba-Ahmed, Chancellor of Baze University, Abuja, led a high-powered delegation from the institution to the office of the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, SAN, on a working visit to discuss plans for a proposed Baze University Aviation School.
The proposed aviation school is to be sited in Bwari Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory and is expected to have its own runway for pilot training, alongside facilities for aviation and related professional courses. The project is aimed at strengthening aviation education, skills development, and local capacity building within Nigeria’s aviation sector.





During the meeting, Minister Keyamo assured the delegation of the Federal Government’s full cooperation and support toward the realisation of the project. He described the initiative as timely and important for expanding pilot training and aviation manpower development in the country.
To ensure a smooth and timely take-off of the project, the Minister directed the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry and all relevant aviation agencies to fast-track all necessary regulatory and bureaucratic processes. The proposed aviation school is expected to contribute to job creation, educational growth, and the emergence of Abuja as a key centre for aviation training in Nigeria.
