The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has announced plans to commence annual recruitment exercises, with the 2026 recruitment expected to open later this year.
The Comptroller-General of Customs, Bashir Adewale Adeniyi, disclosed that the new recruitment system is designed to ensure regular employment opportunities while improving transparency, efficiency, and manpower planning within the Service.
According to the NCS, conducting recruitment annually will eliminate the long gaps that previously existed between recruitment exercises, allowing qualified Nigerians to apply for available positions on a more consistent basis.
Interested applicants are advised to begin preparing the necessary documents and ensure they meet the eligibility requirements ahead of the commencement of the 2026 recruitment portal.
The Service also urged members of the public to rely only on official Nigeria Customs Service communication channels for updates and to disregard unofficial announcements or individuals demanding payment for recruitment opportunities.
The exact date for the opening of the 2026 recruitment portal is yet to be announced, but the Service says further details, including application guidelines and available positions, will be made public in due course.
