Payment brings outstanding allowances cleared by the adnistration to 20 months, with 15 months remaining
The Executive Chairman of Bwari Area Council, Hon. Joshua Musa Ishaku, has paid another five months of outstanding peculiar allowances owed workers of the council.
The latest payment, made as the chairman marked his 84th day in office, brings the total outstanding allowances cleared by his administration to 20 months, leaving 15 months yet to be settled.
The development is seen as part of the administration’s deliberate efforts to prioritise workers’ welfare while addressing financial obligations inherited from the previous administration.
According to the administration, the payment reflects its belief that workers’ welfare is essential to effective governance and efficient service delivery.
The Joshua-led administration has also identified human capital development and infrastructure as key areas of its broader development agenda for Bwari Area Council.
The administration says its focus extends beyond Bwari town to communities across the Area Council, with an emphasis on inclusive development, improved public services, expanded opportunities and infrastructure projects aimed at improving residents’ quality of life.
With 20 months of the outstanding peculiar allowances now cleared, the administration still has 15 months to settle.
The administration has reiterated its commitment to building what it describes as a stronger and more prosperous Bwari, where residents are empowered, communities are developed and no ward is left behind.
