DSS Alerts Kwara Police As Intelligence Warns Of Imminent Attack By Suspected Mamuda Terrorists

The Department of State Services (DSS) has reportedly issued a security alert to the Kwara State Police Commissioner warning of an imminent attack by suspected Mamuda terrorists. The alert comes amid rising concerns over militant activity in the state, particularly following the recent attacks in Woro and Nuku villages in Kaiama Local Government Area, which left more than 160 residents dead.

Security sources say the DSS advisory underscores the credibility of the threat, urging law enforcement to heighten vigilance and prepare to counter potential attacks. The suspected militants are believed to operate in remote communities near Kwara’s border with Niger State, taking advantage of the region’s forested terrain and porous borders to stage assaults and terrorize local populations.

In response, the Kwara State Police Command and other security agencies have reportedly intensified patrols, increased surveillance, and coordinated with federal forces to secure vulnerable communities. Authorities continue to urge residents to remain alert, report suspicious activities, and cooperate with security personnel to mitigate further attacks.

Analysts warn that the recent surge in militant activity highlights persistent security challenges in central Nigeria, emphasizing the need for proactive intelligence gathering, rapid response, and community engagement to protect civilians and prevent future attacks.
