DSS agents move into Malami’s Maitama home shortly after Atiku’s meeting, raising tension and sparking political speculation ahead of 2027 elections.

Operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS) on Monday reportedly stormed the Abuja residence of former Attorney-General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami, shortly after a visit by former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar.

Sources indicate that Atiku had spent about an hour at Malami’s Maitama residence before leaving the premises. Witnesses disclosed that Department of State Services operatives had already surrounded the property during the meeting but only moved in after the former Vice President departed.

The sudden operation reportedly caused tension in the area, with occupants of the residence said to have been forced out as security agents took control of the premises. As of the time of filing this report, the DSS has not issued any official statement explaining the reason for the action.

The development comes amid ongoing legal and political controversies involving Malami, including allegations currently before the courts.

The timing of the Department of State Services action, coming immediately after Atiku’s visit, has further fueled speculation about possible political undertones, especially as alignments ahead of the 2027 general elections continue to unfold.
