Tunisian FA reportedly targets Nigeria coach with lucrative offer as AFCON 2025 spotlight grows
Abuja, Nigeria – Super Eagles coach Eric Chelle has reportedly received a massive $100,000 per month offer from the Tunisian Football Federation to take over their national team ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The offer comes after Tunisia parted ways with their previous coach following AFCON 2025 performances. Sources say the North African side is keen to lure Chelle away from Nigeria due to his impressive track record with the Super Eagles.
Chelle, who has significantly raised Nigeria’s profile on the continental stage, remains focused on Nigeria’s upcoming fixtures, including the remainder of AFCON commitments, and has not confirmed any move.
Before this offer, Chelle’s monthly salary with Nigeria was reportedly around $50,000–$55,000, making the new proposal almost double his current earnings. Other African football federations, including Angola and Guinea, are also said to be interested in his services.
Despite the financial incentive, Chelle’s priority appears to remain with the Super Eagles, as the team prepares for crucial matches in the coming months.
