Ex-Inspector-General of Police Mohammed Adamu secures the Social Democratic Party ticket as the party intensifies preparations for the 2027 Nasarawa State governorship election
Former Inspector-General of Police, Mohammed Adamu, has emerged as the governorship candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) in Nasarawa State ahead of the 2027 governorship election.
Adamu, who previously contested for the governorship ticket of the All Progressives Congress (APC), moved to the SDP following the outcome of the party’s primary election.
His emergence has added a new dimension to the political contest in Nasarawa State, with the former police chief bringing extensive experience from his years in public service and leadership of the Nigeria Police Force.
Adamu served as Inspector-General of Police from 2019 to 2021 before his retirement from the force.
