Yesterday, tragedy struck the Farin Dutse community in Kaduna State as gunmen launched a violent attack that claimed the life of a pastor and left several others missing.
The assailants reportedly stormed the village late Friday night, killing Rev. Yahaya Kambasya, a pastor with the Evangelical Church Winning All (HEKAN), and abducted 20 residents during the assault.
Eyewitnesses said the gunmen operated for hours without resistance, shooting sporadically and setting fear across the community.
Community members described Rev. Kambasya as a humble and dedicated servant of God who had served the church faithfully for years.
Security agencies have yet to issue an official statement on the incident, but residents are calling on the Kaduna State Government and security operatives to intensify efforts to rescue the abducted victims and restore peace in the area.
The latest attack adds to the growing list of violent incidents across rural communities in Kaduna, where banditry and abductions have continued to claim lives and displace families.
