Nigerian Security forces foil kidnappers’ operation in Bwari Area Council, free abducted residents after gun battle

Troops of the Nigerian military have rescued 19 kidnapped victims during a security operation in Bwari Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), while one terrorist was killed in the process.

The operation followed credible intelligence on the activities of suspected kidnappers operating within communities in Bwari and its surrounding areas.

During the operation, troops engaged the criminals in a gun battle, leading to the neutralisation of one terrorist, while others fled the scene with suspected gunshot wounds.

Security operatives successfully rescued the 19 abducted victims from the kidnappers’ hideout and evacuated them to safety.

The victims were later handed over to the appropriate authorities for necessary care and possible reunification with their families.

Security agencies have assured residents that operations are ongoing to track down the fleeing terrorists and dismantle kidnapping networks threatening communities in Bwari and other parts of the FCT.
