Nobody in Rivers State Can Push Me Out – Wike Boasts Amid Political Tension

FCT Minister says his political structure remains solid despite Rivers crisis

Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, Nyesom Wike, has declared that no individual or political group in Rivers State can push him out of the state’s political space, insisting that his influence remains firmly rooted despite the ongoing political tension.

Wike made the statement during a gathering with his supporters in Port Harcourt, where he addressed speculations that his political relevance in Rivers State is waning following the prolonged rift between his camp and that of Governor Siminalayi Fubara.

According to the former Rivers State governor, his political structure was built over the years through loyalty, performance, and grassroots support, stressing that it cannot be dismantled by intimidation or propaganda.

“Nobody in Rivers State can push me out. We have worked hard, we have structures, and we are not afraid of anyone,” Wike reportedly told his supporters.

The FCT Minister also reaffirmed his commitment to the political alliance that backed President Bola Tinubu during the 2023 presidential election, warning that opportunists who played no role in previous struggles should not attempt to hijack the movement.

Wike’s comments come amid heightened political uncertainty in the State, where divisions within the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have deepened, leading to legislative tensions and governance disputes.

Political observers believe the statement signals Wike’s determination to remain a dominant force in River state politics ahead of the 2027 general elections, despite his current role in President Tinubu’s cabinet.
