
Jikwoyi, FCT – March 8, 2025 – History was made today in the Jikwoyi community of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) as Hon. Joshua Chinedu Obika, Member of the House of Representatives for AMAC/Bwari Federal Constituency, officially unveiled a modern palace for the Esu of Jikwoyi. The magnificent edifice, fully constructed and furnished by Hon. Obika, stands as a landmark achievement and a fulfillment of his electoral promise to the people.
The commissioning ceremony was a momentous occasion, bringing immense pride and joy to the Esu’s royal dynasty and the wider Jikwoyi community. During his campaign, Hon. Obika pledged to provide a befitting residence for the traditional ruler, and in less than a year, he has delivered on this commitment. His unwavering dedication has earned him the esteemed title of “The Promise Keeper” among his constituents.




In his remarks, the Esu of Jikwoyi, who has led the throne for 29 years, expressed profound appreciation to Hon. Obika. He noted that no previous or current leader had ever prioritized the construction of a proper palace for him. The traditional ruler commended Hon. Obika’s visionary leadership and devotion to the progress of AMAC/Bwari and the FCT as a whole. He also pledged his steadfast support for Hon. Obika’s future political aspirations.
Despite mourning the recent loss of his wife, the Esu shared that the inauguration of the palace brought him solace during this difficult period. He expressed confidence that his late wife would be rejoicing in paradise and interceding for Hon. Obika’s continued success.
