Former FCTA Protocol Director to assume new role after retirement from civil service
The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Ezenwo Wike, CON, GSSRS, has approved the appointment of Mr. Sani Musa Daura as Senior Special Assistant on Protocol Matters.
The appointment was disclosed in a statement issued on Wednesday by the Minister’s Senior Special Assistant on Public Communications and Social Media, Lere Olayinka, who described Daura as a seasoned protocol expert with over 30 years of experience in the FCTA Protocol Department.
Mr. Daura, who became Director of FCT Protocol in 2019, is expected to retire from the Federal Civil Service on January 24, 2026. His appointment as Senior Special Assistant on Protocol Matters will take effect from the date of his retirement.
The development is seen as part of efforts to ensure continuity and professionalism in the coordination of official engagements, state functions, and high-level visits within the Federal Capital Territory.
As Director of Protocol, Daura played a key role in managing protocol arrangements for top government officials, foreign dignitaries, and major government events in Abuja.
