Chairman’s latest intervention brings total cleared peculiar allowances owed to Bwari Area Council staff to 15 months
The Executive Chairman of Bwari Area Council, Hon. Joshua Ishaku, has approved and paid another batch of peculiar allowances owed to council staff, bringing the total number of months of outstanding allowances cleared by his administration to 15 months.
The development was announced by the Chief of Staff to the Honourable Chairman, Hon. Tukura John Daniel, who disclosed that the latest payment is part of the administration’s continued efforts to address outstanding financial obligations to council workers.
The latest intervention is expected to provide further relief to staff who have been awaiting the payment of their accrued peculiar allowances.
The administration has reiterated its commitment to prioritising workers’ welfare, improving their working conditions and ensuring that legitimate entitlements are progressively settled.
The clearance of 15 months of peculiar allowances is being viewed as another significant step in the Joshua Ishaku administration’s efforts to strengthen staff welfare and promote a more responsive and responsible local government system.
