APC Stakeholders under Sir (Dr.) AK Peters pledge unity, institutional reforms and stronger grassroots mobilisation ahead of 2027
The South–South Stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Support Groups Council (APC-SGC) have unveiled a strategic “Road Map 2027,” announcing plans to harmonise and reposition all support groups across the six states of the South–South geopolitical zone ahead of the next general elections.
The resolution was reached at the Council’s inaugural meeting in Abuja, where leaders emphasised the need for unity, discipline and structured grassroots mobilisation within the ruling party. The stakeholders described the harmonisation process as a decisive step toward eliminating fragmentation and strengthening institutional stability within the party’s support architecture.
The Council, under the South–South leadership of Sir (Dr.) AK Peters, PhD, Deputy Director-General (DDG) for the zone, reaffirmed that the APC-SGC is a structured party initiative operating under the Directorate of Support Group Mobilisation in the Office of the National Organising Secretary. According to participants, the framework is designed to coordinate support groups into a cohesive and transparent mobilisation platform.
Key resolutions adopted at the meeting include the immediate harmonisation of support groups across the zone, implementation of reforms to enhance operational clarity and accountability, and strategic post-convention engagements with governors, party leaders and recognised support forums.
Stakeholders also proposed a South–South Zonal Summit and a coordinated six-state mobilisation march, subject to approval, as part of efforts to strengthen grassrioots engagement and visibility. In addition, a provisional media framework is to be deployed to ensure consistent communication and structured messaging across the zone.
The meeting further stressed the importance of equitable South–South representation within emerging national party structures, with stakeholders resolving to actively pursue broader inclusion in party activities.
Participants commended the leadership of the APC National Chairman, , and the National Working Committee (NWC) for prioritising the welfare and recognition of support groups as vital vehicles of grassroots mobilisation.
They also applauded the reform-driven leadership of President , GCFR, noting that ongoing policy directions are aimed at repositioning Nigeria for renewed growth and prosperity.
The meeting concluded with a firm commitment to unity, inclusivity and total consolidation of the South–South mobilisation structure as preparations gradually intensify toward 2027.
