Federal High Court clears Abba Kyari of asset declaration charges after ruling that prosecution failed to provide sufficient evidence to sustain the case.
A Federal High Court has discharged and acquitted suspended Deputy Commissioner of Police, , of charges bordering on the alleged non-declaration of assets.
The court ruled that the prosecution failed to establish sufficient evidence to sustain the allegations against the embattled police officer. Delivering the judgment, the court held that the case presented did not meet the legal threshold required to secure a conviction.

The ruling effectively clears Kyari of the accusations relating to failure to properly declare his assets, bringing an end to that aspect of the legal battle that had trailed the former head of the Intelligence Response Team (IRT).
Kyari, who was once regarded as one of Nigeria’s most prominent police officers, has faced multiple legal challenges in recent years, including investigations linked to alleged misconduct.
