Mohammed Bello El-Rufai, alongside two Kaduna lawmakers, officially joins ADC as political realignments ahead of 2027 continue to gather momentum.
A member of the House of Representatives representing Kaduna North Federal Constituency, Mohammed Bello El-Rufai, has formally defected from the All Progressives Congress (APC) to the African Democratic Congress (ADC) ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Bello El-Rufai, who is the son of former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai, announced his resignation from the ruling party during plenary on Thursday after his letter was read by the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Tajudeen Abbas.
According to the lawmaker, his decision to join the ADC was inspired by his commitment to “courage, conviction and quality representation” for his constituents.
The Kaduna lawmaker also disclosed that two other members of the House of Representatives from Kaduna State joined him in the defection. They include Suleiman Richifa, representing Soba Federal Constituency, and Umar Ajilo, representing Makarfi/Kudan Federal Constituency.
