The 2025 FIFA U-20 World Cup in Chile has reached its knockout stages, and Africa is proudly represented! Out of the four African nations that qualified for the global youth tournament, three have made it through to the Round of 16, showcasing the continent’s growing football power and talent.
🇳🇬 1. Nigeria
Nigeria’s Flying Eagles have once again proven their consistency on the world stage. With a mix of pace, discipline, and tactical maturity, the team secured qualification after impressive group-stage performances. Nigeria remains one of Africa’s most successful teams in the U-20 category.
🇲🇦 2. Morocco
The Atlas Cubs of Morocco have carried their continental form into the global tournament. Their strong defensive record and creative midfield play earned them a place in the knockout rounds, further establishing Morocco as a rising football force in Africa.
🇿🇦 3. South Africa
South Africa’s Amajita also advanced, marking a significant achievement for Southern African football. Their qualification is a testament to the country’s youth development programs and increasing investment in grassroots football.
❌ Egypt Misses Out
Unfortunately, Egypt — the fourth African representative — couldn’t progress beyond the group stage. Despite a spirited effort, the Young Pharaohs fell short in a tough group.
