APC FCT Senatorial Candidate, Philip Aduda, Appreciates Supporters, Commends Wike and Tinubu, Vows People-Oriented Leadership
Former Senate Minority Leader and APC senatorial candidate for the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Senator Philip Tanimu Aduda, has expressed appreciation to residents and supporters across the territory following his victory at the APC Senate primaries held on May 18, 2026.
In a statement issued after the exercise, Aduda thanked the people of the FCT for the overwhelming support and confidence reposed in him throughout the campaign period, describing his emergence as a clear indication that residents desire competent, capable, and people-oriented leadership.
The former senator stated that the FCT has lacked a strong and effective voice in the Senate in recent years, a situation he said has affected the welfare and development aspirations of the people. He pledged to provide purposeful representation through people-oriented laws and policies that would improve the living standards of residents.
According to him, his focus would include better welfare packages, scholarship opportunities for youths, and employment initiatives aimed at empowering the younger generation and securing a brighter future for the people of the FCT.
Aduda also reaffirmed his commitment to supporting the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, while promising to work towards positioning the FCT at the centre of national development.
He commended the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Barrister Nyesom Wike, for the ongoing infrastructural development and reforms being witnessed across Abuja and the satellite towns. He noted that improvements in road infrastructure, electricity and water supply, civil service reforms, and the removal of the FCT Administration from the Treasury Single Account (TSA) have contributed to faster and more efficient service delivery.
The APC candidate further appreciated other aspirants who participated in the senatorial primary, applauding their maturity, sportsmanship, and commitment to the unity and progress of the party.
He specially acknowledged Dr. Mrs. Amina Zanna Ibrahim for stepping down her aspiration in support of his candidacy, describing the gesture as a rare act of sacrifice and unity that would not be forgotten.
Aduda called on party members, stakeholders, and supporters across the FCT to unite and work together towards delivering victory for the APC and President Tinubu in the 2027 general elections, while also securing all National Assembly seats in the territory.
He assured residents that his covenant with the people remains focused on quality representation, inclusive development, and policies that would positively impact the lives of citizens across the FCT.
