Hon. Engr. Bello Lawal praises Maikalangu’s leadership, pledges national support for grassroots governance and local government development in the FCT.
The National President of the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON), Hon. Engr. Bello Lawal, has congratulated the Executive Chairman of the Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC), Hon. Christopher Zakka Maikalangu, on his re-election and subsequent emergence as Chairman of the ALGON Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Chapter.
In a congratulatory letter dated June 18, 2026, the ALGON National President described Maikalangu’s re-election as a reflection of the confidence the people of AMAC have in his leadership and commitment to grassroots development.
Lawal noted that the AMAC Chairman’s emergence as Chairman of the ALGON FCT Chapter further demonstrates the trust and respect he enjoys among his colleagues within the local government system.
“Your re-election is a clear testament to the confidence reposed in your leadership, your unwavering commitment to grassroots development, and your dedication to the welfare of the people you serve,” the letter stated.
The ALGON National President also assured Maikalangu of the full support and cooperation of the association’s national leadership as he assumes his new responsibilities.
According to him, the national body looks forward to working closely with the FCT ALGON Chairman to promote good governance, sustainable development, and strengthen local government administration across Nigeria.
Lawal wished the AMAC Chairman a successful and impactful tenure, expressing confidence in his ability to advance the objectives of the association and deliver meaningful development at the grassroots level.
The congratulatory message was issued on behalf of the National Executive Council, leadership, and members of ALGON nationwide.
