Emergency Responders Battle Blaze as Authorities Assess Extent of Damage
A major fire outbreak has engulfed a multi-storey commercial building on Lagos Island, Lagos State, causing panic among business owners, workers, and residents in the area.
The affected building reportedly houses a branch of Polaris Bank alongside several other corporate offices and commercial establishments. Thick smoke was seen billowing from the structure as emergency responders raced to the scene to contain the inferno and prevent it from spreading to nearby buildings.
Officials of the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service, supported by other emergency agencies, were deployed to combat the blaze. Eyewitnesses said occupants of the building and surrounding businesses hurriedly evacuated the premises as firefighters intensified efforts to bring the situation under control.
