BYTTI commends Joshua Ishaku’s youth inclusion and development efforts, presents recommendations to strengthen education, employment and sustainable development in Bwari.

The Bwari Youth ThinkTank Initiative (BYTTI) earlier today met with the Executive Chairman of Bwari Area Council, Hon. Joshua Ishaku, in what was described as a fruitful and engaging meeting.

The visit provided an opportunity for the Youth ThinkTank to appreciate the Chairman for his commitment to youth inclusion in his administration, as well as commend the ongoing development efforts, including construction projects and skills acquisition programmes across the Area Council.

During the meeting, BYTTI presented a number of recommendations aimed at supporting the administration and contributing to the overall development of Bwari Area Council.

BYTTI assured the Chairman of its commitment to supporting his administration through community development initiatives to the best of its ability.

The ThinkTank emphasized that its commitment is driven by a desire to see Bwari succeed and is not based on political affiliation.

BYTTI appealed to the Chairman to consider establishing an undergraduate scholarship programme for indigenes and residents of Bwari Area Council.

The ThinkTank also encouraged the administration to strengthen and sustain relationships with both private and public agencies and establishments operating within Bwari Area Council.

As the host community to several institutions and establishments, stronger relationships could help the Area Council attract employment opportunities, corporate social responsibility (CSR) projects, skills development initiatives and other community development benefits.

The ThinkTank further highlighted the pressing need for a functional community library, e-library and ICT centre in Bwari.

According to BYTTI, such facilities would help revive the reading culture, support students and equip young people with digital skills needed for employment, entrepreneurship and participation in the modern economy.

The Youth ThinkTank reiterated that its purpose is to identify challenges, study issues, generate ideas, propose solutions and constructively engage government and other stakeholders for the advancement of Bwari Area Council. BYTTI further raised other cogent recommendations aimed at strengthening development and improving the wellbeing of residents.

Responding, the Executive Chairman of Bwari Area Council, Hon. Joshua Ishaku, appreciated the group for its voluntary initiative and desire to contribute to the advancement of the Area Council.

The Chairman emphasized that the development of Bwari requires the collective efforts of everyone, noting that with the involvement of citizens and stakeholders in advancing the Area Council, Bwari will undoubtedly grow beyond expectations.

He assured the ThinkTank that the recommendations presented during the meeting would be given due consideration by his administration.

The group further expressed its belief that Bwari has the human resources, strategic location and potential to become a model Area Council and ultimately the pride of the Federal Capital Territory.
