Anti-graft agency seeks public assistance in tracking suspect linked to an alleged N1 billion fraud and criminal conspiracy case.
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has declared a United Kingdom-based Nigerian associate wanted in connection with an alleged N1 billion fraud and criminal conspiracy case.
According to the anti-graft agency, the suspect is being investigated over allegations bordering on obtaining money by false pretence, fraudulent diversion of funds, and other related financial crimes.
The EFCC, in a public notice, called on Nigerians and members of the international community with useful information regarding the whereabouts of the suspect to promptly report to any of its offices across the country or contact relevant security agencies.
The commission reiterated its commitment to combating economic and financial crimes, stressing that efforts are ongoing to ensure all individuals linked to the alleged fraud are brought to justice.
The development forms part of the EFCC’s ongoing crackdown on financial crimes and fraudulent schemes that have led to substantial losses for victims.
The agency urged members of the public to remain vigilant and exercise caution when investing, warning against schemes that promise unrealistic returns or quick profits.
Investigations into the matter are ongoing as the EFCC intensifies efforts to apprehend the suspect and recover funds allegedly linked to the fraud.
